Light Density Swabbing/Proving Pigs
Manufactured from an open cell polyurethane foam typically with a density of 1-2lbs/ft².

Prior to use they are coated to one end with a compound like a polyurethane elastomer creating an interface with the bore of the pipe and providing a Seal face for a pressurized media to drive the pig along the pipeline.
There are numerous grades of foams available that are used, examples of these are : 35/200 and 31 /190, the first number designates the density in kilograms /cubic meter and the second number stands for the hardness in Newtons.

Polly Pigs
Polly Pigs Are Foam Pigs manufactured from an open cell polyurethane foam which typically comes in three Densities:
Light density @ 1-2lb/sqft or 16-32kg/m³
Medium Density @ 5-7lb/sqft or 80-112kg/m³
Heavy Density @ 8-10lb/sqft or 128-160kg/m³
Size range : 2" - 60"
Pull Ropes are fitted to 16" and above sizes.
Their body length is twice to one and a half times the diameter and are pointy or blunt ended bullet shaped, but can come in double dished ends as well as bullet nose both ends. They come in bare skin foam c/w a polyurethane seal back , criss cross polyurethane or slicon carbide coating, spiral wound wire or plastic brush and full cover wire or plastic brush including full cover silicon carbide coating.
Poly pigs have the ability to traverse short radius bends and perpendicular takeoffs and can negotiate 65% valve openings.

Solid Cast Polyurethane Pigs
Come in many varied designs from Bi-Directional to Mono Direction Cup and combination Disc / Cup. Usually made from Polyurethane however Viton, Nitrile and Neoprene and other Rubber Elastomers are used determined by the application. In most cases are of single piece construction.
Solid Cast Pigs are effective in removing condensate and water from wet gas systems and liquids from product lines and help with controlling paraffin accumulation in crude oil systems. This type of pig is widely used as a batching Pig due to its ability to form a reliable seal be multiple run and easily cleaned.

Mandrel Disc and Cup Pigs
Have a metal body in either steel,aluminium or stainless steel with sealing, guide and spacer discs and or cups or a combination of the above bolted to the Body. For cleaning the pig would come with Spring Mounted Wire Brushes or Polyurethane Blades. Mandrel Pigs can have there wear components changed out reusing the body, bolts and spacers. By pass ports in the nose of the pig can serve to control the speed of the pig as well as provide a jetting effect to keep material removed from the walls of the pipe in suspension in front of the pig. In addition Magnets ,Gauging Plates and and other options can be added in numerous configurations to suit the appliction.

Tracking Pigs
Tracking Pigs are purpose built Pigs either in mandrel or foam construction which have a transmitter cavity built into the rear of the body of the pig having a removable cover to accommodate insertion , safe passage and removal of the transmitter. The transmitter emits an alternating magnetic field which is detected by a receiver which comprises a search coil ( antenna ) amplifer and a head set. These systems generally have a range of 5-6meters and are used on land lines.
Dual Diameter Pigs
Or Multi-diameter Pigs are designed to traverse pipelines with more than one nominal diameter, this scenario is common in water lines where the valves are often undersized. Foam Pigs and Mandrel Pigs are used for this situation, the Mandrel Pig usually having a solid disc or discs for the smaller diameter and slotted or segmented discs for the larger diameter. The Foam Pigs are used for their ability to conform to extremely difficult pipe configurations, they have the ability to enter a pipeline through a tee, traverse zero-radius bends , and can pass through valves as much as 50% less than the pipeline diameter.
Spheres
Have been used for many years as sealing pigs. There are four types of spheres, inflatable, solid, foam and soluble. The most common is the inflatable, manufactured of various elastomers polyurethane, neoprene, nitrile and viton, this determined by the application. They have a hollow centre with filling valves used to inflate the sphere with liquid. These are filled with water or water and glycol to approx 1-2% above Pipe ID. As the sphere wears from service it can be re-sized extending its life. Spheres have the ability to negotiate zero radius bends and can roll freely. Which means they can travel along a lateral, drop through a tee into a larger diameter line then be pushed into a trap by another pig sized for the larger line.

Pig Signalers, Locators and Trackers
It is important to know when a pig has left the launcher and when it arrives at the receiver however whenever pigging takes place in other than routine conditions, it is extremely helpful to know where the pig is at any given time. So if anything goes wrong, the pig can be located with a minimum loss of time.
Pig Signalling
Iis a method of indicating when the pig has reached a certain point in the pipeline. This is usually achieved by attaching a triggering device or signaller to the pipe. This may be activated by the pig physically moving a lever or plunger which protrudes into the pipeline ( referred to as intrusive), or by remotely sensing the pig’s presence from outside the pipe wall, for example, a change in the magnetic field. This is usually referred to as a non-intrusive signaller.
Pig Locating
Iis a method of determining the position of a pig, normally when it is stationary, and usually due to it being either held up ( due, perhaps, to low flow conditions ), or stuck ( due to damage or obstruction ). This normally requires the pig to carry a transmitter device of some kind, and a receiver ( antenna ) to be carried along the line to locate it.
Pig Tracking
Is a method of literally following the path of a pig either continuously or, more likely, by locating it at a series of predetermined points. This can be achieved by various methods including transmitter/receiver systems, mass balance via computer calculations, and by acoustics.

Most smaller sizes are kept in stock and sizes from 18” upwards are made to order. Pipe caps can be made up to 2 meters diameter.
Pipe Caps can have an Earth Clamp cut out included in the manufacture process should this be required. see photos attached.
